Earlier this year we met and filmed an interview with Es Devlin on behalf of MediaStorm. The recipient of this year’s WSJ. Magazine 2016 Innovators Award in the field of Design, she is largely considered the most pre-eminent stage designer in the world.
Having worked with some of the greatest artists of our time, including Adele, Beyoncé and Kanye West, Devlin uses design to create “gestures” on stage that evoke the spirit of her clients.
A truly deep commitment to her craft, you can easily see why Devlin deserved the 2016 Innovators Award. She gave us an inspirational insight into her thoughts and processes and we were really fascinated by how her designs transpire through the different pieces that she creates.
Her sense of responsibility to her audience with what she is creating is something that really resonated with us here at JKP and it was a real pleasure to be able to meet and film her interview earlier this year.
Highlighting both her impact in design and the brilliance of creating what are essentially memories check out her interview below:
Es Devlin has spent 20 years investigating some of the most important stagecraft of the last two decades. From Wagner to Beyonce, Devlin has created stage design that expands upon the core ideas of each performance regardless of genre.

Our beautiful wedding couple Selina and Nick chose to celebrate their day more as a festival than a traditional wedding. With every detail carefully planned, they had everything from marshmallows to tattoos, from giant photo booth to outdoor cinema! It was a truly wonderful day and an honour to capture their special day, so we are very excited to present the trailer for their wedding! Selina and Nick you are both wonderful people and we wish you every happiness for the future. Congratulations!
It’s not everyday you get to meet a real life astronaut, but this week we had the great honour of meeting both Tim Peake and Tim Kopra as they rounded up their Principia UK post-flight tour. On Wednesday 19th October they flew straight in from Belfast (the previous days’ location for the tour) to the Science Museum in London to wow over 400 school children in a Live Q&A session about their time on the International Space Station (ISS). Last month we were in Paris filming and photographing for Clarins’ annual Brand Seminar. After two full days of filming here’s one of the main videos we produced of the event from start to finish. #CloserToYou #CloserToStores
This time last week we were in sunny Paris! Filming and photographing on a two day shoot for Clarins Paris we were capturing the build of a 130m2 installation for their annual Brand Seminar as well as the actual event itself.
Attended by over 250 people from Clarins across the globe it was a big task, but with a strong crew it was a fantastic shoot and here are a few photos from behind the scenes.
Earlier this year we had the honour of meeting and filming an interview with David Bailey on behalf of MediaStorm. Being presented by the International Center of Photography for a Lifetime Achievement Award, it was great to be a part of this project and hear first hand the fascinating stories of a true photography legend.
Below is the full version of the short film paying tribute to the contributions of David Bailey to the craft and field of photography for the 2016 ICP Infinity Awards.
David Bailey is an artist, photographer and commercial director. His portraits are widely known, having photographed everyone from The Beetles to the Queen of England. See the project at http://mediastorm.com/clients/2016-icp-infinity-awards-lifetime-david-bailey

Great morning spent filming the Entertainment One exclusive Drama Preview 2016 at Picturehouse Central today. It was a fantastic opportunity to see the showcases for some very exciting and interesting new tv dramas that will be coming to our screens soon.
A quick vote round the JKP crew after the event and the all round first choice to watch went to Designated Survivor starring Kiefer Sutherland. Created by David Guggenheim it centres around a low-level cabinet member who is suddenly handed the presidency after a catastrophic attack during the State of the Union address kills everyone above him in the Presidential line of succession.
Other upcoming dramas showcased earlier today included You Me Her, Private Eyes, Foreign Bodies, Cardinal and Ransom.
It’s always great to be able to cover such interesting events and we look forward to seeing them when they are released!
For all those inventor and engineering lovers out there, we recently covered another fascinating exhibition launch of Leonardo da Vinci: The Mechanics of Genius at London’s Science Museum.
“Internationally-acclaimed, must see exhibition of 2016!” it is a brilliant insight into the mind of a Genius. It’s your chance to investigate both the facts and the misconceptions that surround this great genius of the Renaissance: Was he the period’s only designer of machines? Did all of his designs get fully constructed?
Super happy to present the trailer to a wedding we filmed earlier in the year for a super amazing couple Nicole & James! A beautiful wedding on a lovely sunny day in September it was set in a rather spectacular venue in Kent. Many congratulations to James and Nicole! We wish you every happiness in your future together.
